The bearings were oiled, greased painted and marked to determine future movement.
Serviced pivots on Pier 2.
Measurements taken from the bearings on Pier 4
BEFORE Open end posts filled with debris. Drainage hole is blocked.
AFTER Treated open end posts cleaned and painted. Mesh was placed over the treated area to protect the hole from future debris build up.
We recommend the larger enclosed end posts also be cleaned and de-rusted in future. These are full of rubbish and pose a needle stick hazard so a suction machine would be required.
Recommendation.
- Treat all 6 small nest of rollers on both abutments and pier 4 with Roller Rehab Bath to be filled with degreaser, Action Gel and Lanocoat oil.
- Suction out rubbish from 8 larger enclosed end posts, clear out holes and paint. Fit wire mesh to collect rubbish.
- Re Grease bearings in 5 years.
