Project Description : Roller Rehab Bridge Bearing Service , 21th April, 2018.
Bearing rust removal, internal cleaning, painting, greasing and oiling. Mark bearings to gauge future movement and report on service and any defects identified.
The bearings on both abutment were covered in ballast, dirt and plant life.
Once the top of the piers were cleaned and the bearings pressure washed the bearings were found to be defect free and serviceable. The oiling and greasing points were now clear to take a lubricant.
Bearings were painted, oiled and greased as shown.
Bearings were marked and dated to gauge future movement to ensure the slide bearings are moving as they should. No defects were detected on any bearing on the structure.
A bent and rusted cross brace which has impact damage. De-rusted and coated to provide corrosion protection until the brace is repaired.
