Project: Rusted Steel Door Frame Repair, Polly Motel, Marine Parade, Kingscliff, NSW. A project to introduce steel rust repair.
This Motel is on the beachfront at Kingscliff and had 13 rusted steel door frames for us to repair.
Our first step was to remove all rust and paint to a bare metal finish using a specialised wire brush attachment and Action Rust Removal Gel. Due to the large amount of debris thrown around during prep, Action Corrosion use a custom built PVC frame covered with a tarp which sits around the door on the inside to ensure the motel rooms remained clean during treatment.
Once the paint and rust was removed leaving bare metal, the first coast of moisture cured urethane was applied. (See photo of the silver product on inside of door frame). This product has a large percentage of metal content and offers excellent protection. A second coat is applied 3 hours later.
Two coats of white solvent based enamel were used as the finish coats leaving the client with as new door frames as depicted.
